If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to make coffee in your spiritfarer, you can try using an electric coffee maker. These machines heat up water and beans, and then pump out a cup of coffee in just a few minutes. There are a few things to keep in mind when using an electric coffee maker. First, make sure that the machine has been properly cleaned and prepped before use. Second, be sure to measure out the water and beans correctly. Finally, be patient - it may take a few minutes for the machine to heat up and produce a cup of coffee. If you’re looking for something more traditional, there are still plenty of ways to make coffee in your spiritfarer. You can use an espresso machine or French press, both of which require some preparation ahead of time. Make sure that your espresso or French press is properly cleaned and prepped before use, as well as measuring out the water and beans correctly. Again, patience is key - it may take several minutes for your drink to come together. ..

Once made, you can give it to the spirit Gwen, as it’s her favorite drink. Aside from her, other spirits on the boat will also appreciate being given coffee every now and then.

Before that, however, you must first need to plant some coffee seeds in the field to grow coffee beans. These beans are then placed in the oven to make the drink.

Building the Kitchen

Let’s start with the easier building to make: the kitchen.

As one of the earliest buildings you’ll be tasked with making in the game, the kitchen is first introduced via the “I Get Cranky When I’m Hungry” request from Gwen.

Luckily, it should be automatically unlocked once you get the free Beginner Blueprint Station from Albert’s Shipyard (X: 61, Y: 64).

However, building it isn’t, and requires these materials:

5 Maple Logs 8 Bright Jellies

If you just started playing the game, you should have no trouble looking for these materials. Maple logs are obtained, of course, from cutting down maple trees located in Mosstein Cove, Berkensheim Creek, and Greenhalten Bay.

Simply go beside the tree and interact with it to start cutting it down.

Meanwhile, you can get bright jelly from the mini-game that Gwen introduces to you. With the first stage located at X: 80, Y: 92, this is the first mini-game you do.

Once you start the event, the ship will get darker and jellyfish will start floating from the right side of the ship. Catch as many as you can until the timer runs out, and you should be good.

The green jellyfish will provide Bright Jelly, while yellow ones will only yield Glims, the game’s currency.

With that, you should be able to get all the materials and build the kitchen in no time. From here, you can interact with the oven and pick one ingredient to cook.

Note: Alternatively, you can also eventually upgrade the kitchen in order to increase its capacity to two ingredients. Our guide on how to upgrade the kitchen goes more in-depth in this topic.

Getting Coffee Beans & Building the Field

The next step is to buy yourself some coffee seeds.

Almost all of the seeds that are found in the game can be purchased from one of the many Racoon Inc. stores found all over the map, and that includes the coffee beans.

In this case, you need to go to either Hummingberg (X: 39, Y: 139) or Bottom Line Corp. (X: 137, Y: 51).

If you just started playing, then we recommend you go for Hummingberg, as the Bottom Line Corp. can’t be reached without any boat upgrades.

Once you arrive and find the Racoon Inc. store, you can purchase coffee bean seeds for 75 Glims apiece. You can also buy other seeds here, should you have extra Glims and want to stock up.

Other than that, you can also find coffee bean seeds from random crates that are floating in the water.

Afterward, go back to your boat and build yourself a Field. Luckily for you, the field unlocks with the beginner blueprint station, so you should have no problem making one.

As for the materials, the field requires:

15 Maple Logs 3 Limestones

Since we already know where to get the maple logs from earlier, let’s briefly look at where you can get limestones.

If you’re still early in the game, then we suggest visiting the nodes at either Mosstein Cove (X: 78, Y: 130) or Iwashima Countryside (X: 164, Y: 16).

Simply mine the nodes found here to acquire the limestones. Just make sure you don’t let the “axe” turn red as it will explode and get you to start the mining process again.

After getting the materials, proceed to build the field on your boat. Next, interact with one of the plots inside to plant the coffee bean seeds.

While the seeds are growing, you need to water it every now and then whenever the water drop logo appears.

Alternatively you can make the process faster by holding down the action button to start playing the guitar.

The more notes you hit correctly, the faster the plant will grow.

Once they’re fully grown, harvest them to get your coffee beans!

Making Your Coffee

From here, it’s simply a matter of placing the coffee beans inside the kitchen oven and waiting for the timer (it should only take a few seconds) to make coffee.

Just make sure you don’t leave the coffee for a significant amount of time, as this will result in burnt food.

You can then give this coffee to Gwen to boost her mood, or to other spirits in the boat that will like it.
