Spiritfarer looms large in the fabric world, a versatile tool that can be used to create beautiful fabrics of all sorts. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced weaver, there are some basic steps you can take to get started with the loom. First, be sure you have the right tools. You’ll need a loom, a shuttlecock, and some thread. You’ll also need some yarn and needles. Next, find a fabric you want to make a fabric from. There are many different fabrics to choose from, so it’s important to find one that will fit your needs and style. Once you’ve found a fabric, start by measuring it out. This will help you determine how much space your loom will need and how many stitches per inch your shuttlecock will need to produce the correct results. Once you’ve determined how much space your loom will need and how many stitches per inch your shuttlecock will need to produce the correct results, start by choosing your fabric size. There are several different sizes of fabrics available, so it’s important to find one that fits your needs and style before starting any weaving process. Once you’ve chosen your size, start by measuring out the amount of fabric that will fit on your loom in inches using a tape measure or other accurate method. This information is important because it’ll help you determine how much yarn and needles you’ll need before beginning any weaving process!
Once unlocked and built, you can use it to weave different kinds of fibres into thread, which can then be further woven into fabric. These are then used for different spirit requests and ship upgrades.
To help you, here’s a complete breakdown of everything you need in order to build the loom, how to operate its minigame, and everything else in between.
Blueprint Upgrade
Before weaving anything, Stella’s journey starts like any task that has to do with production buildings: by going into Albert’s shipyard.
In any case, you can always find his shark head around the middle of the map, near Alt Harbor.
The coordinates are X: 61, Y: 64, while the nearest Bus Stop is at X: 77, Y: 51.
After letting Albert crack his usual joke, you can head on over to the upgrades, where you’ll find the Hobbyist upgrade in the blueprint station. This is only the second blueprint upgrade, so the materials you need aren’t all that much.
Hobbyist blueprint upgrade requirements are as follows:
2 Maple logs 1 Limestone 400 Glims
Since the Loom is an early building requirement in the game, there’s a chance that you haven’t unlocked a big part of the map yet.
As such, you can find maple logs by cutting down the trees in Mosstein Cove and Berkensheim Creek. Meanwhile, you can find limestone nodes to mine at Mosstein Cove and the Iwashima Countryside.
Glims are acquired by completing requests or selling your items either at the Raccoon store or Francis the Wandering Merchant.
Note: Depending on where you are in the story, the spirit Gwen will also first introduce you to the Loom via one of her requests. In the storyline “Cut From the Same Cloth,” she asks for Stella to build one, as she has always loved knitting and weaving.
Building the Loom
Once you acquire the blueprint upgrade, the next step is building the Loom itself, which requires:
10 Maple Log 8 Quartz
Note: You can mine Quartz from the Quartz Dragon minigame, located in the Furogawa region.
After gathering the materials, all that’s left to do is to go Stella’s blueprint station and pick a spot for the Loom on your ship.
Building the Loom completes the “Cut From the Same Cloth” questline, and the spirit Gwen herself will teach Stella how to use it.
If you wish, you can also build more than one Loom, although the cost of materials needed doubles.
How To Use The Loom
Building the Loom unlocks a new minigame that lets Stella create items in the clothing category.
Here’s how to do the minigame:
Start by interacting with the Loom inside. While only one item can be tailored at a time, you can input more than 70 of the same item, given that you have as much in your inventory. Press the interact button to start the minigame, and hold while Stella weaves. A golden diamond indicator will appear depending on the item, and you need to make sure you line it up with the mechanism that Stella is holding. The more you line it up, the more output the Loom will make. Repeat until all of the items are woven, and you can start it all over with another item.
The amount of items you get from weaving depends on how good you were at the minigame, and below is a table with all the craftable items on the standard Loom.
The “failed experiment” output is unlocked in one of Stanley’s requests, while Gwen will also use the Loom now and then if she’s in a good mood.
Loom Improvement
Like other buildings in Spiritfarer, you can also upgrade the Loom, allowing you to weave threads into fabrics.
However, you will first need the blueprint upgrade.
Note: You can also automatically get this blueprint upgrade if you follow Gwen’s storyline.
But you can find this upgrade in a chest atop a villa balcony in Villa Maggiore, located in X: -58, Y: 117. Once you get the blueprint, the upgrade costs:
10 Maple Planks 18 Linen Thread 8 Bright Jelly 120 Glims
After getting the upgrade, you can now use the Loom to take your thread and weave them into fabrics:
