If you’re looking for some deep gems in Dragon’s Dogma 3, you’ll want to start by farming. Farming is a great way to get your hands on some rare and valuable items, and it’s also a great way to make money. Here are four tips for farming deep gems in Dragon’s Dogma 3:

  1. Start by exploring the world. There are a lot of hidden areas that contain deep gems, and you never know where you’ll find them.
  2. Use your map skills. If you know where all the important areas are, it’ll be much easier to find deep gems when you’re out exploring.
  3. Take advantage of treasure chests and other special locations. These spots often contain rare items and deep gems, so it’s worth checking them out regularly.
  4. Be patient – sometimes the best treasures are hidden far away from the main path. Explore every nook and cranny before giving up on finding something valuable ..

Looting the Cathedral of The Deep (1 Gem) Looting Irithyll of The Boreal Valley (1 Gem) Farming Deacons in Irithyll of The Boreal Valley (infinite Gems)

We’ll cover exactly how to find these Deep Gems in this guide, as well as how to use them once you’ve got them.

Method 1: Looting The Cathedral of The Deep

The earliest point you can find a Deep Gem is in The Cathedral of The Deep.

Warp to the Cleansing Chapel Bonfire to get started.

From the Bonfire, head out of the shortcut door to the right of the Bonfire.

If you don’t have this door unlocked yet, check out our tutorial on finding the Rosaria’s Fingers covenant.

Once outside the Chapel, turn left and follow the path to the metal gate. Head inside and ride the elevator up, then look to your right to see a narrow staircase.

At the bottom of the staircase you’ll find an Evangelist with its back to you. Slowly walk up to it and perform a backstab to get a headstart in the fight, then finish it off normally.

Once the Evangelist is dead, interact with the corpse on the balcony to pick up the Deep Gem it’s holding.

Method 2: Looting Irithyll of The Boreal Valley

Warp to the Pontiff Sulyvahn Bonfire to get started on finding the second Deep Gem.

Head out of the back door and turn left, following the main path until you see a large courtyard inhabited by sleeping Giants and hostile NPCs.

These NPCs pose a huge threat and guard the building behind them, the location of the second Deep Gem.

You can take them out on your way to the building, but I recommend avoiding them entirely.

The easiest way to avoid them is to first take out the Deacons on the raised walkway to the left of the courtyard.

Walk down the steps in front of you and turn left to head towards the walkway.

Walk through the arches underneath the walkway and turn left to see an archway on the far wall that leads outside.

Head through this archway and up the staircase here to find yourself up on the raised walkway.

Take out the Deacons one by one and travel to the end of this platform. From here, you’ll be right behind the NPCs, and will have an easy route to the door they’re guarding.

Head inside and look to the back corner of the room. Strike the back left wall to break its illusion, revealing a ladder behind where the wall once stood.

Slide down the ladder to drop into the secret room below. There’ll be two enormous Beasts down here guarding the Deep Gem which sits on a body at the back of the room.

You can either fight them (preferably with a bow or magic), or simply make a beeline to the Deep Gem and try to make it back out alive. I personally just run to the Deep Gem and die after collecting it.

Method 3: Farming Deacons in Irithyll

Once you’ve picked up both in-world Deep Gems, you’ll have to farm for more.

Before you start farming, be sure to raise your farming luck by equipping some item discovery-boosting gear.

Check out our Dark Souls 3 farming build guide for a complete rundown on where to find those items.

Once you’ve constructed the farming build and raised your item discovery stat, warp to the Pontiff Sulyvahn Bonfire to get started.

The targets of this farm are the Deacons that roam the raised platform on the way to the second Deep Gem.

Each run of the farm consists of simply reaching the raised walkway, taking out each and every Deacon, and warping back to the Pontiff Sulyvahn Bonfire.

It can take a long time to reach the Deacons from the Bonfire if you take the main path, but luckily there’s a shortcut to help speed up the farm.

Once you’re up on the raised platform, turn around to face the cathedral in which you fought Pontiff Sulyvahn.

Step through the archway to head inside.

Once inside, turn left and step on the stone platform that sticks out from the path to activate the elevator and ride the platform down to the Pontiff boss arena.

With the elevator activated, you can head right to this elevator from the Pontiff Sulyvahn Bonfire, speeding up farming attempts massively.

How To Use Deep Gems

Infusing a weapon with a Deep Gem is a little more complicated than simply meeting with Andre in Firelink Shrine.

You’ll first need the Sage’s Coal, a key item found in Farron Keep.

The Farron Keep Bonfire is the closest spawn point to the Coal, so warp there to begin.

Head through the door that leads to the swamp, then make a hard left and start hugging the left wall of the area.

Continue to hug the left wall past the group of slugs and into the poisonous swamp. After a short journey you’ll find a stone tower guarded by a Darkwraith.

Run past the Darkwraith and head into the building, then pick up the Sage’s Coal from the corpse inside.

With the Coal collected, warp back to Firelink Shrine and talk to Andre the Blacksmith in the main tunnel.

Choose to give him the Coal, then open up the ‘Infuse Weapon’ menu.

Here you can choose to add a Deep infusion to your weapon in exchange for some Souls and one Deep Gem.

A Deep infusion removes a weapon’s stat scaling but adds Dark damage, making it a great infusion for taking out bosses that are weak to Dark, such as the Dancer of The Boreal Valley.
