If you’re like most people, you probably take screenshots of important documents and files on your Mac to save them for future reference. But if you’re like me, you also take screenshots of things just to show off how cool they look. There are a few ways to crop a screenshot on your Mac, but the best way is probably the easiest: just hold down the Option key and click on the screenshot thumbnail in the bottom left corner of your screen. Then use the arrow keys to move it around and resize it as needed. But there are other ways to crop a screenshot too. Here’s how:
- Hold down Option and click on one of the corners of your screen. This will create a corner crop that will be used for all subsequent screenshots.
- Hold down Option and click on one of the top or bottom edges of your screen. This will create a top or bottom crop that will be used for all subsequent screenshots.
- Use Command-Option-click (or Command-Option-drag), then drag the screenshot thumbnail across the entire screen to change its size.
The first step is to take the screenshot. The second step is to open up the screenshot on your computer. The third step is to find the area you want to crop out of the screenshot by using the rectangle tool. Fourth, click and drag your mouse over the area you want to crop. Fifth, press “Ctrl” + “C” on your keyboard. Sixth, open a new document in any photo editing software and press “Ctrl” + “V” on your keyboard.

Cropping is an important step to take before you upload your photo to social media or print it. There are many different ways to crop a photo, but the most popular way is to use the “rule of thirds.” To do this, you divide the photo into nine equal sections and place four important points of interest on those lines. You can also use the rule of thirds by dividing the photo into six sections and placing two points of interest on those lines.
Snipping Tool screenshots go in the Pictures folder.
