If you’re like most people, you probably use Instagram to share photos and videos of your day-to-day life. But if you’re like me, you also use it to connect with other people and learn new things. One way to keep your Instagram account active and engaging is by using email marketing. Email marketing is a great way to reach a large audience of people who are interested in what you have to say. To start email marketing on Instagram, follow these steps:
- Sign up for an account with MailChimp. This will give you access to all of the features of their email marketing platform, including automated opt-ins, unsubscribe options, and more.
- Type in the following into the MailChimp account settings: “Email Marketing.” This will give you a list of all the different types of emails that MailChimp offers its users: lead magnets, email campaigns, social media ads, and more. You can also find out more about each type of email by clicking on the “Details” tab at the top left corner of each one.
- Click on “Create an Email Campaign.” This will take you to a page where you can create your campaign’s template and settings. You’ll also be able to choose which channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) to send your emails through and how many emails per day (10 or 100). You can also set up automated unsubscribes if desired.
- Click on “Publish.” This will take you back to the campaign’s page where you can see all the details about how it’s working and how much traffic it’s getting so far!
If you created a new email account, or you have a different email that you prefer to use, you might want to change your email address in your Instagram account. We’ll show you how to do just that on desktop and mobile.

Change Your Instagram Account Email on Mobile
On your mobile phone (iPhone, iPad, or Android), use the Instagram app to update the email address in your account.
Start by launching the Instagram app on your phone. In the app’s bottom bar, tap your profile icon.
On your profile page, tap “Edit Profile.”
On the “Edit Profile” screen, at the bottom, tap “Personal Information Settings.”
Tap the “E-mail Address” field.
You will see a “Change Email” screen. Here, type the new email address you’d like to use with your Instagram account. Then, in the top-right corner, tap the checkmark icon.
You will see a “Check Your Email” prompt. Tap “OK.”
Instagram has sent an email to your new email address for verification. So open your email’s inbox, access Instagram’s email, and tap the “Confirm Email Address” link in the email.
And that’s it. Your new email address is now the primary email address for your Instagram account.

Change Your Instagram Email Address on Desktop
If you are on a desktop computer like Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook, use the Instagram website to change your email address.
To do so, first, open a web browser on your computer and launch the Instagram site. Sign in to your account on the site.
After signing in, in the top-right corner of the site, click your profile icon.
From the menu that opens, select “Profile.”
On the profile page, next to your username, click “Edit Profile.”
Scroll down the “Edit Profile” page so you see the “Email” field. Click this field and enter the new email address to use in your account. Then click “Submit.”
You will have to verify your new email address by clicking a link in the email that you receive from Instagram. To do so, open your email’s inbox, access the email from Instagram, and click the “Confirm Email Address” link in that email.
And your Instagram email address is now changed. You will now use this new email address to sign in to the platform on all your devices.
You might also want to change your email on Facebook. It’s equally easy (and important) to do that.
