If you’re a Verizon FIOS customer and have an account with the company, you should change your admin password. This is especially important if you use a different name or username for your account on other devices, like an Apple device or a computer at home. To do this, open the Verizon FIOS router’s web browser and type in “password” into the address bar. You’ll then be taken to a page that will list all of your current passwords. Scroll down to find the one that corresponds to your account with Verizon FIOS. Change it if necessary, and save the new password in a safe place. Now that you’ve changed your admin password, be sure to set up two-factor authentication on all of your devices so that you can’t be hacked if something goes wrong with your account or if someone wants to access your data without having to enter their login information first.

If you’ve ever tried to login to your Wi-Fi router, you know exactly why you might want to change the admin password. They never make the password even readable… is that an S or a 5? We can easily change the password though.

To login to your Wi-Fi router, open up a browser and go to 192.168.1.1 and then login with the password located on the sticker on the router itself. (The username is always admin).

Once you are there, look on the lower left-hand side.

Click on the “Change login user name / password” link.

And then you can easily change both the username and the password.

Make sure to write it down somewhere though! Maybe put it on a sticky note and tape it to the router.
